Have no idea why. This was supposed to have been in the Seventies, so I was gone by then.
Gil is about to go. He's been getting weaker and weaker every day. He's not eating. Just slowing down. This evening he went out to the backyard. I suspect he won't come back in.
This was posted on the Keyport website. A retired guy back there is apparently a quilt maker. Look at those butterflies. Pretty nice, eh?
Took Iz on a little longer walk today. Up the stairs at the end of the block and then down the street to 53rd Avenue, where Du's Teriaki is, then back down Sandy Boulevard home. I think she relaxes on those longer walks. She pees and poos and sticks her nose into all sorts of bushes. Really, not much around here.

We didn't get around to making dinner tonight, so I made myself a bowl of grits.
Another day at the beach. Don't know the story behind it.
We went to get Joan's car washed. Not a total success, we really need some detailing. And we grocery-shopped in a store we weren't familiar with. Lots of adventure.
Gilbert seems to have dodged a bullet. A day ago he looked really bad, today he's looked a lot better. He's eating some food. He's moving around a little. We stopped off at a pet store and got some treats for the Iz and Gilly.
That's about it for tonight. Temperature feels just right. A slight breeze.
While others are flying around the world, or at least somewhere, we across the street. Oh, Izzy and I went on an adventure. We cut across the new medical building parking lot, down fiftieth and then along Brazee for a few blocks. She is in such ecstacy sticking her nose into everything. She just loves traveling along new streets that she's practically dragging me around. I can imagine that her days on the street were wild, running this way and that. I suspect she's had her share of garbage behind the McDonalds and Taco Bells.
I went down the road a bit to the Kaiser campus in Clackamas, a few miles south of here. The dermatologist gave my face a look over, froze a non-cancerous thing on the back of my right ear. He looked at the other stuff and gave me a thumbs up, so that's good. While I was down there I got some new stuff for my CPAP machine, a new hose and a new facemask. I left it out in the car so I'll have to wait until tomorrow to upgrade my machine.
It cooled off a lot overnight and it was pleasantly overcast with a nice breeze in the afternoon. This evening when I took out some food scraps for our compost can I thought of how wonderful the weather is. Oh, we'll complain about the weather 90% of the time, but that sweet spot is sweet.
She's getting to be a big girl.
It was actually chilly up here this morning, but it warmed up late in the afternoon. The sun doesn't go down here until almost a quarter to ten this time of year. Gilbert's getting near the end. Our friends down the street lost an old dog today. She was in pain, had to be put down. Gilbert doesn't seem to be in any pain at all. Just a clock winding down.
Took Izzy on nice walk this afternoon. She has to sniff everything. Got to stick her nose into every flower, every new plant we come across. She just loves those walks. A wonderful dog.
The reason you get the pictures of our neighbors' vacation is because, once again, there's no pictures from the usual sources. I keep telling myself to master how to use the camera on my phone if for no other reason than to take pictures of Izzy, Joanie and me.
There really isn't much happening in sports this time of year. Oh, there's baseball but I've pretty much lost interest with it. There's basketball, which is done until fall. Football training camps open up about a month from now.
We had that three-day heatwave, or was it four, whatever, I switched to my shorts, but it was chilly this morning so I'm back in jeans.
Joan made a meal in the instant pot tonight. Hamburger, pasta shells, tomato sauce and spiced up. When it's cooked you mix some grated cheese in it to melt. It's kind of like hamburger helper. Anyway, it hit the spot.

These are two kids I don't know at the biggest candy store in the US, which, I believe, is somewhere in Minnesota. Because I haven't gotten any pictures of kids I know these will have to do. As you can see, they seem to be amazed and happy to be there.
I woke up to thunderclaps but we didn't get any rain. There wasn't anything exciting that happened, and pretty much nothing unexciting happened. It's garbage night so I took the cans to the street.

As you may suspect, there isn't much going on. We're in the middle of a heat wave of sorts here. Over ninety today, pretty hot yesterday and hot tomorrow.
I took Izzy over to the dog park this afternoon. She got some run around time with other dogs and got some yayas out. Tonight she's been fast asleep.
We had a little bit of a breeze this evening but it seems to have stopped. So far we haven't gone to the air conditioner, but I'll need a fan tonight to move the air molecules around. We had yams for dinner (with chicken). Joan cooked the yams in her insta pot. Oh, they were so good.
