There's just a few more episodes to go, which I think start in July.
I must say, I feel a little like the FBI agent in "The Sopranos" who finds himself rooting for Tony versus Frank Leotardo.
Although I'm not sure who I should be rooting for. The last episode shown shows Walt's brother-in-law Hank sitting on a toilet at Walt's, and he's reading Walt Whitman's "Leaves Of Grass" and he sees an inscription for the book by "W.W." Now there was a W.W. who was involved with that meth cook who was shot dead awhile back.
Hank gets this look on his face like he's finally putting everything together.
So after the episode ended I had this very bad feeling in the pit of my stomach. I was worried for Walt. Of course, Walt has changed from a sniveling high school teacher in the first episode to a big drug dealer who is killing in bulk, and who's supplying most of the Southwest (and the Czech Republic) with a pretty horrific drug.
I heard somewhere that this show concludes with a happy ending, but I can't figure out how it can end happily. He's dying of cancer, his wife hates and fears him, he's got tons of money but can't spend it, his brother-in-law, who works at the DEA, is on to him. Nobody trusts him, and really, why should they? He's become a monster, his ego is out of control, and he's destroying everyone around him. Considering that just a few years ago he was the goofy dad in "Malcolm In The Middle"...
