This is a song I wrote and recorded back in the early 1980s. It's a story about someone on death row, imagining a safe, loving childhood which had never happened.
I was reminded of this song by the school shooting in Ohio. Apparently, the shooter lived in a very abusive household.
Years after I wrote this song I read a book by Dr. Jonathan Pincus which pretty much confirms the plot of the song.
